About João Seiça
João Seiça is a film director based in Lisbon, working across live action and generative AI. He holds an MA in Screen Directing from Drama Centre London (Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London) and an MSc in Physics Engineering.
His approach puts story first: character, performance and structure lead, and generative tools sit inside a conventional directing process rather than replacing it. Recent work includes Portugal's official 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign for the FPF and the Pingo Doce comedy series Aqui Há Gato.
He won Silver in AI in Video at Clube dos Criativos 2026, with three nominations across two categories, and was a finalist in Runway's Gen:48 international AI filmmaking competition. He is developing the television drama series Inhale with Fado Filmes.
